Lakeshore Talent is seeking a Financial Clearance Specialist to support the outpatient functions on a hospital in Chicago, IL. In this position, you will coordinates the administrative and financial components of medical financial clearance including: validation of insurance/benefits, prior authorizations, patient benefit and cost estimates, as well as financial assistance referrals

This position will start as a 3 month contract with potential for extension and/or permanent hire.

Pay Rate: $19 per hour
Schedule: 8:30am-4:30pm Monday to Friday

Responsibilities:

• Work with referring physician offices, payers, and patients to ensure full detailed audits of patient data and financial responsibilities prior to provision of care
• Obtain and complete documentation for referrals and authorizations
• Communicate with patients to secure correct financial information, educate on financial responsibilities, collect estimated amount due and/or advise on financial assistance
• Inform patients of any issues with securing the financial account for their visit
• Maintain communication with patients to keep them informed of clearance and self pay matters
• Maintain communication with the hospital/clinics regarding pending insurance, coverage, and other payment-related matters 

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Bachelor Degree in Finance or related field OR 4 years of experience working in Healthcare Administration
• Customer service experience preferably in a hospital setting
• Because this position is in a healthcare setting, employees must have up to date immunization records (MMR, Varicella, TDaP, Covid19
