Lakeshore Talent is working alongside a reputable hospital system in downtown Chicago, IL and a has a Volunteer Services Liaison position available. This is a great opportunity for candidates with a passion for healthcare to get their foot in the door with an amazing healthcare company!


CONTRACT LENGTH: 3 months to start with potential for extension or hire

PAY: $20-$21/hour

SHIFT: Monday-Friday; 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

Overview: As Hospital Volunteer Services Liaison, you will be an integral part of our hospital’s volunteer services team, assisting in the coordination and support of our volunteer program. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about healthcare, community service, and making a positive impact in the lives of others. You will receive training and mentorship to develop the skills necessary to recruit, onboard, and engage volunteers effectively.


An employee in this position may be called upon to perform any/all of the following duties as well as additional related tasks.

  • Assist in recruiting volunteers by posting job openings, attending recruitment events, and reaching out to community organizations and schools.
  • Respond to inquiries from potential volunteers, providing information about volunteer opportunities and the application process.
  • Coordinate volunteer interviews and assist with the selection process under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Work closely with department managers and staff to identify volunteer opportunities and match volunteers with appropriate roles.
  • Communicate regularly with volunteers to provide updates on upcoming events, projects, and opportunities for involvement.
  • Serve as a point of contact for volunteers, addressing their questions, concerns, and feedback in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist in organizing appreciation events, recognition programs, and other initiatives to acknowledge volunteers’ contributions and foster a sense of community.
  • Maintain accurate records of volunteer information, including contact details, availability, and training status, using volunteer management software.
  • Assist in scheduling volunteers for shifts and assignments, ensuring adequate coverage for hospital needs.
  • Help prepare reports on volunteer activities, hours worked, and program outcomes for internal use and reporting purposes.



  • Minimum 2 year of administrative office experience
  • Customer service orientation
  • Candidate possess active listening skills, interpersonal skills, follow-through, patience and empathy
  • Process and deadline oriented
  • Strong communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Adaptable in a fast-paced environment
  • Computer programs: Outlook, Excel, Microsoft Word
  • Database management (Volgistics experience would be a plus)
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to walk long distance within the hospital
  • Ability to push outpatients in a wheelchair
  • Previous experience working with volunteers would be a plus

Because this position is in a healthcare setting, immunization records must be up-to-date (MMR, Varicella, Tdap, Flu, Covid-19).
