This will start as a 12 month contract with the possibility of going perm. Pay is $55 – $60 per hour.

Position Summary: Lakeshore Talent seeks an experienced and highly skilled Environmental & Compliance Specialist for our clients Environmental Health Safety and Compliance (EHSR) team. This role will provide expert support to our dCarbon Ventures business line, which focuses on carbon capture and storage (CCS). The successful candidate will oversee mid-stream operations, manage contractors and Project Managers, and ensure compliance with federal and state regulatory requirements, particularly for carbon capture and sequestration projects. This position requires a deep understanding of environmental regulations, permitting processes, and the ability to tackle complex challenges in a remote work environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Project Oversight: Lead and coordinate the environmental and regulatory aspects of CCS projects, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Contractor and Project Manager Management: Supervise and collaborate with contractors and Project Managers to ensure effective execution, adherence to timelines, and budget compliance.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with federal and state environmental regulations, including permitting processes and environmental impact assessments. Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations.

Permitting and Approvals: Manage and oversee the permitting process for linear projects, including preparation and submission of permit applications and coordination with regulatory agencies.

Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and the public regarding environmental and regulatory issues related to CCS projects.

Reporting and Documentation: Prepare detailed reports and documentation concerning environmental compliance, project progress, and regulatory issues.

Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential environmental and regulatory risks associated with CCS projects.

Support Design and Implementation: Partner with leaders to design and implement EHSR programs and compliance procedures for CCS projects. Provide coaching and guidance on environmental permits and compliance.

Database and Inventory Management: Prepare, analyze, and maintain environmental permits, databases, and inventories. Collect and assess information to propose technical solutions that maximize compliance, performance, and sustainability.

Regulatory Reporting: Complete and submit required regulatory notices and reports (air, water, waste). Assist with hazardous materials compliance (DOT, PSM, RMP) and greenhouse gas, Quad O, and other air quality reporting and compliance.

Health and Safety: Participate in and follow health and safety initiatives and training. Support acquisitions and divestitures and provide input into EHSR targets and goals for the organization.
Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Safety, or a related field; Master’s degree or relevant certifications are a plus.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years in environmental management, regulatory compliance, or a related field, with significant experience in managing linear projects and permitting processes. Experience in carbon capture and storage is preferred.

Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of federal and state environmental regulations related to oil and gas production and carbon sequestration.

Project Management: Proven track record in managing contractors and Project Managers, with a strong ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Skills: Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Proficiency in technical writing, presentations, and training. Skilled in computer software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office). Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.

Additional Skills: Keen investigative, auditing, facilitation, and problem-solving skills. High level of integrity and ability to handle complex challenges.
Working Conditions:

Location: Remote with primary project sites in TX, CO, WY, LA, IL, and NE. Occasional travel to field sites is required.

Flexibility: Flexible office/remote work environment with potential for varied working hours to meet project needs and regulatory deadlines.

25% travel to sites and offices.
