Lakeshore Talent is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Finance and Accounting on behalf of our client, a leading food company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and a passion for modernizing outdated processes. This role requires a hands-on approach to rebuild the accounting department from the ground up, streamline operations, and implement advanced accounting systems. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for the company’s financial strategy and long-term planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overhaul and rebuild the current accounting department, transitioning from outdated processes to modern, efficient systems.
  • Implement new accounting software and systems, improving accuracy and efficiency in financial reporting and record-keeping.
  • Oversee and manage all accounting functions, including general ledger, tax compliance, financial reporting, and budgeting.
  • Ensure proper accounting for construction projects, franchise operations, and capital expenditures.
  • Provide strategic financial guidance to the executive team, influencing business decisions and long-term planning.
  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Lead financial forecasting, budgeting, and analysis to support company growth initiatives.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Drive cost optimization efforts while maintaining high financial efficiency across the organization.
  • Lead and mentor the accounting and finance teams, fostering a culture of accountability, development, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • CPA certification required.
  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Proven experience in modernizing and rebuilding accounting departments.
  • Ability to assess, recommend, and implement new accounting systems and technologies.
  • Experience in financial planning, budgeting, and strategic financial management.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong background in construction accounting (preferred).
  • Tax knowledge (preferred).
