Lakeshore Talent is seeking a Payroll Specialist for a permanent opportunity. This role involves managing bi-weekly payroll processing, ensuring compliance with payroll regulations, and contributing to financial reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and experienced with multi-state payroll processing.
This role will start as an onsite role reporting into the company’s office in Colorado Springs and offering flexibility of a hybrid model as the role progresses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Administration: Process bi-weekly payroll for ~200 employees using Paylocity, including full-time, part-time, and temporary staff.
- Compliance: Stay updated on federal, state, and local payroll regulations; handle state tax and unemployment account registrations.
- Data Management: Maintain accurate employee payroll records, including benefits, deductions, and PTO calculations.
- Employee Support: Address payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
- Financial Support: Assist with journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closings.
- System Optimization: Operate Paylocity for payroll processing and reporting; recommend process improvements.
- Collaboration: Support HR with onboarding and finance with reporting. Cross-train in AP/AR tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in accounting or payroll processing.
- High School Diploma or GED required; degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- Experience with multi-state payroll and tax registrations; union payroll is a plus.
- Proficiency in Paylocity, Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs), and bookkeeping software.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and payroll compliance.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Compensation:
- $30 – $34/hour
