Lakeshore Talent is partnered with a well-established real estate management firm in downtown Denver in their efforts to find an experienced Accountant to oversee financial operations for a diverse portfolio of commercial and residential properties. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, overseeing accounts payable and receivable, and working closely with internal teams to support strategic decision-making. This is a contract role paying $35 -40/hr, depending on experience. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day financial operations, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Track income and expenses for multiple properties to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Handle reconciliations for shared expenses among tenants.
  • Assist with lender reporting and financial documentation as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles and internal financial policies.
  • Oversee invoicing, collections, and tenant account management.
  • Manage vendor payments, review contracts, and ensure timely processing of invoices.
  • Coordinate year-end reporting and tax documentation.
  • Monitor financial trends, cash flow, and forecasting to anticipate financial needs.
  • Assist in preparing annual budgets and integrating them into property management software.
  • Track capital expenditures, tenant improvements, and lease-related financials.
  • Prepare supporting documentation for audits and tax filings.
  • Process payroll on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Collaborate with property management and leadership to improve financial efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of accounting experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • Prior experience in real estate or property management accounting, preferred
  • Proficiency with industry-specific software such as Yardi or Appfolio
