Lakeshore Talent is seeking a talented Data Engineer to join an organization’s team we are partnered with to help develop a program that visualizes the Span of Control across the organization. This role will also support the transition of various HR sources of truth into the cloud-based data warehouse and facilitate integration into Power BI.

Location: Fully Remote (excluding PST timezone)
- Pay: $60-$90/hr (depending on experience)
- Contract Length: 12 weeks
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement a program to visualize the Span of Control for a mid-size company.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
- Develop data models and algorithms to analyze and visualize organizational hierarchies and reporting structures.
- Create interactive dashboards and visualizations to provide insights into the Span of Control.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Optimize data processing workflows for performance and scalability.
- Document technical processes, methodologies, and best practices.
- Integrate and manage data pipelines using Snowflake to enhance data processing and storage capabilities.
- Leverage Snowflake’s data warehousing capabilities and integrate with visualization tools like Power BI.
- Utilize R or Python for data analysis and process automation.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of ETL processes and data warehousing concepts.
- Familiarity with organizational structures and Span of Control concepts.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with team members and stakeholders.
- Exceptional English written and verbal communication skills, including grammar and business correspondence.
- Ability to write clear and structured reports, memos, and professional correspondence.
- Ability to collaborate with subject matter experts and leadership to develop training resources aligned with adult learning principles.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret data and generate accurate reports.
Computer Skills:
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, and R.
- Experience with Snowflake and its data warehousing capabilities.
- Knowledge of integrating Snowflake with data visualization tools like Power BI.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a related field.
- Knowledge of machine learning and statistical analysis.
- Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop or Spark.
