Lakeshore Talent is partnering with a nonprofit organization to fill an Administrative Assistant role. This will be a direct-hire position paying $18-$20/hr. with fully paid healthcare. 

This position will be providing support to the Executive Director (ED) by managing business-related tasks for the ED such as creating reports, data input, taking minutes, preparing e-newsletter, disseminate organizations activities via social media and other organizational tasks. Candidates must have 1-3 years of prior administrative support experience and an interest in nonprofit organizations and managing social media is ideal! 

 

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Answering phones and routing calls to the correct person and taking messages

  • Preparing financial statements, reports, memos, invoices, letters and other documents

  • Filing and retrieving corporate records, documents, and report

  • Researching and conducting data to prepare documents for review and presentation to boards of directors, committees, and executive

  • Helping prepare for meetings and workshops

  • Accurately recording minutes from meetings

  • Using various software, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation software

  • Reading and analyzing incoming memos, submissions, and distributing them as needed.

  • Performing office duties that include ordering supplies

  • Provide general administrative support

  • Maintains accurate records; inputs information into database

  • Maintains current information on the organization’s website

  • Ensures that resource materials are filed properly and easily locatable to staff

  • Contacts, establishes, and maintains relationships with community agencies and organizations

  • Locates and participates in community events, fairs, festivals, etc.

  • Maintains confidentiality of information

 

Education or Formal Training

  • High School Graduate or equivalent required

  • Minimum of 1 year related experience

 

Required Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong commitment to work in a team environment

  • Strong willingness to take initiative

  • Strong communication, organizational, leadership, and management skills

  • Strong written communication skills

  • Strong customer service skills including listening skills

  • Proficiency with databases, Word and Excel

  • Ability to work some evenings and some Saturdays for trainings and fairs during various times of the year

  • Must have reliable transportation

 

Preferred Requirements

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

  • Social Media: Online Content Coordination

  • Fundraising experience
