Lakeshore Talent is currently seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst for one of their clients, a large healthcare company, located in Denver, CO. This is a full time, direct hire position paying a salary of $73k-$92k/year (plus bonus potential.) As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will evaluate designs, develop, and test reports for business operations using Power BI, SSRS, and Excel, and  identify trends and insights to inform business decisions using data analytics, visualization, and data modeling techniques .  You will also manage data gathering, queries, and report writing for various projects and process improvements and perform data analysis. The Business Intelligence Analyst consults with leadership and staff to improve data quality and analysis in the pursuit of performance excellence.



Job Responsibilities:

  • Research and apply analytical methods and statistical techniques to interpret data and solve complex problems.  Analyze systems, programs, datasets and reports, to enhance organizational processes, procedures, goals and objectives.  Create metrics, examine data, interpret findings and extract insights.

  • Use knowledge of the specific data available, forecasting/analysis methods and visualization capabilities to enhance requirements and provide insightful suggestions to business stakeholders.

  • Design, develop, and maintain high quality visual reports and dashboards using visual analytics platforms.

  • Develop custom software using PHP, HTML, and SQL to support work systems and support processes.

  • Serve as a resource for ad-hoc data requests.

  • Automate data quality checks and provide real-time, automated feedback to staff on data quality.

  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain database systems.

  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.

  • Work closely with management to prioritize data and reporting needs.

  • Identify and assist with process improvement opportunities through data analysis.

  • Act as a subject matter expert on data visualization, analysis and acquisition.

  • Facilitate discussions on data needs, data quality, and data interpretation with internal and external groups.

  • Verifies the quality of organizational data.

  • Coordinates software development projects with external vendors, internal subject matter experts, and leadership

  • May perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

  • Maintains and advances technical skills through professional education and training thereby increasing the effectiveness of the Information Systems team.

  • Seeks opportunities for additional responsibilities and growth within the organization & shows initiative by suggesting and implementing new concepts or ideas.



  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, health sciences, business and/or equivalent experience required.

  • Extensive database experience required, experience with Microsoft SQL Server required.

  • Expertise with reporting platforms, expertise with Power BI preferred.

  • Understanding of basic statistics required.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with data analysis and reporting.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy required. Ability to approach work conscientiously and methodically required.

  • Strategic, intellectually curious thinker with focus on outcomes.

  • Outstanding interpersonal and collaboration skills.

  • Strong customer service skills.

  • Ability to perform requested tasks with minimal direction, and the ability to work independently and resolve conflicts as they arise.

  • Demonstrated organizational skills required and ability to see tasks through to completion required.

  • Capable of prioritizing multiple projects while still achieving deadlines.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team required.

  • Working knowledge of medical terminology and medical records/procedures preferred.


Work Conditions:

  • Normal hours include planning time, consultation with staff locally and in regional locations, travel to hospitals, professional groups, speaking engagements and education activities.

  • Working evenings and weekends may be required occasionally to perform the tasks outlined in the job description.

  • Travel by personal auto, charter or commercial aircraft is required with reimbursement for personal auto use provided by the company policy according to the IRS policy.
