Lakeshore Talent is currently seeking a Cash Applications Analyst for one of their clients, a large, well-known organization based out of Denver, CO. This is a hybrid, contract to hire position and pays $18-21/hour (depending on experience) with a 5% bonus.

Job Description:

We are seeking a Cash Applications Analyst to process and record daily receipts of payments to customer accounts accurately and promptly and perform daily cash audits of electronic deposits, initiates credit card processing, credit card audits and research/code for unidentified payments. The Cash Applications Analyst demonstrates and adheres to the company values of safety, honesty, ownership, respect and teamwork to ensure successful partnership with customers and employees that result in the company’s continued success.


Job Duties:

  • Process daily receipts ensuring prompt and accurate recording of payments to customer accounts; including all lockbox, ACH and credit card payments
  • Research and address unapplied and unallocated receipts
  • Collaborate effectively with Credit, Collections and Billing Teams
  • Process credit card payments
  • Monitor daily e-mail box and address inquiries
  • Investigate and resolve customer queries
  • Process adjustments to customer accounts for credits/debits and account write-offs
  • Reconcile adjustments related to prior payments posted as well as auditing and correct rejected payments
  • Maintain cash application metrics report
  • Process approved Credit Memo’s relating to Cash Receipts
  • Work End-Of-Month process the first week of every month
  • Box all A/R lock box files and send to storage each month
  • Open and distribute mail for Collection department
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned



  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • 3+ years’ experience in accounts receivable applying cash
  • Understand financial measurements; discounted cash flow analysis, associated contract terms and conditions, and legal ramifications Strong organizational skills, high detail oriented
  • Work independently and with a team to complete work
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Driven to meet deadlines: work under pressure, strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; effectively converse with all levels of the company
  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite; Advanced Excel skills
  • Professional integrity and accountability
  • Work in fast-paced, collaborative environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in Rail Transportation, Supply Chain Logistics, Manufacturing and/or Oil and Gas industries
  • Associates Degree
  • Understand and apply multi-currencies
  • 2+ years working within railroad industry
  • Working experience NetSuite and AS400 experience
  • Experience working is an Agile environment
