Lakeshore Talent is looking for qualified candidates to fill a part-time Accounting Assistant position for a nonprofit located in Westminster, CO. This is a 1-2 month contract.

Hours – 15-20/week
Pay – $20-$23/hour depending on experience

This position can be remote (must use own computer), hybrid, or in the office.

Job Description

This position will assist with accounting procedures. The AA will provide support in all areas of the Accounting Department. The AA is under the direction of the Lead Accountant.

  • Create and maintain Cash Receipts, including invoice creation, payment processing, and reconciling receipts for deposits.
  • Process Accounts Payable, Auditing invoices for accuracy, coding with vendor number and general ledger code, and entering data into QuickBooks.
  • Additional responsibilities may also be assigned by Accounting Team.

Relationships and Communication:

  • Must work well with all levels of team members, associates, customers, and members.
  • Involves daily contact with team members, associates, vendors, boards, and committees.
  • Excellent organizational and recordkeeping skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize based on established daily, monthly, and annual timelines.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Must always maintain confidentiality regarding financial and personnel information.
  • Requires good telephone etiquette and excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to be a flexible team player.

Technical Experience:

  • Proficient in QuickBooks Premier Desktop – Required
  • Knowledge of accounting procedures and attention to detail.
  • Must have experience and working knowledge of Microsoft Suite.
  • Experience with membership database use is helpful.
