Lakeshore Talent is partnered with a leading healthcare clinic in Aurora, CO in their search for a Medical Assistant to provide both clinical and administrative support within a healthcare clinic setting. This is a 3-4 month contract to cover a leave of absence.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay Range: $20 – $24.50/hour, depending on experience
Length: 3–4 months, with potential for extension
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing participant flow by coordinating daily schedules with medical staff.
- Collect vital signs and perform lab specimen collection, including phlebotomy, finger sticks, and pulse oximetry.
- Report abnormal results or changes to the appropriate provider or RN.
- Label and organize lab specimens for timely courier pickup.
- Prepare participants for exams, including disrobing assistance and positioning.
- Support providers and nurses during procedures and treatments within scope of training.
- Assist in dispensing medications, injections, eye drops, and inhalers when qualified.
- Schedule internal and external appointments and labs as requested.
- Communicate lab results to participants as assigned.
- Maintain compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Keep exam rooms clean and stocked, manage supply inventory, and place orders as needed.
- Perform administrative duties including chart documentation and weekly audits.
- Follow up on lab results and communicate with laboratories for clarification as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- High school diploma or GED
- Phlebotomy skills and experience
- Minimum of 1 year working with elderly or medically complex populations
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- BLS and First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain)
- Must pass background check and drug screening
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual language skills
- Experience with EPIC EMR
