Mid-Level Paralegal – Risk & Claims Support
Location: Remote, CST or MST Hours
Department: Legal / Risk
Reports To: Director of Legal Operations
Compensation: $90,000–$110,000 annually (depending on experience)
About the Company
Lakeshore Talent is partnering with a leading organization in the family entertainment industry, known for creating safe, memorable, and fun experiences for guests of all ages. The company operates across multiple states, with a dynamic, people-centered culture. The Corporate Legal and Risk team plays a critical role in managing claims, mitigating risk, and ensuring compliance across all entertainment venues.
About the Role
We are seeking a Mid-Level Paralegal to join the company’s Corporate Legal and Risk team. This is a newly created role and a high-priority hire, designed to bring key litigation functions in-house and reduce reliance on costly third-party administrators (TPAs).
The right candidate will be a confident, experienced litigation professional who can build structure, streamline processes, and act as the central liaison for internal and external legal partners. You’ll have the opportunity to make a major impact from day one—improving organization, communication, and efficiency across the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Create order and structure: Clean up and organize the Legal Team’s shared drive; build a searchable, user-friendly repository of frequently requested documents in SharePoint.
- Act as liaison and point of contact: Serve as the primary contact for defense counsel, managing incoming requests, clarifying needs, and pushing back where appropriate to maintain efficiency.
- Extricate and streamline TPA work: Take ownership of work currently handled by the third-party administrator (TPA), ensuring smoother communication, faster responses, and reduced external costs.
- Coordinate litigation materials: Collect, organize, and manage discovery documents for active personal injury cases.
- Maintain legal standards: Ensure confidentiality, compliance, and version control in all document management.
- Collaborate effectively: Work closely with internal teams, outside counsel, and leadership to support litigation strategy and corporate legal operations.
- Provide proactive support: Anticipate needs, resolve roadblocks, and enhance the overall efficiency of the Legal Department.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of true paralegal experience — not administrative — with strong background in litigation and insurance defense.
- Experience coordinating with outside counsel and/or TPAs preferred.
- Strong understanding of claims and discovery processes.
- Highly organized, process-driven, and detail-oriented.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and prioritization skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams).
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment with many moving parts.
- Confident and professional demeanor, with the ability to take initiative and own outcomes.
- Flexible, resilient, and eager to help shape new systems and processes for a growing legal team.
Why You’ll Love This Role
- Join a dynamic, fast-moving corporate legal team that values intelligence, collaboration, and transparency.
- Play a critical role in bringing litigation and claims management in-house—directly improving speed, communication, and cost-efficiency.
- Work closely with highly respected leaders in the legal function, including leadership of this team, who are known for being sharp, direct, and supportive.
