Senior Staff AccountantLocation: Henderson, CO In office
Hours: 8 – 5 Monday – Friday
Pay: 85K – 100K depending on experience
Position Overview
The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for resolving account discrepancies, analyzing financial performance, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial transactions. This role requires a high level of discretion, independent judgment, and the ability to manage assignments with minimal supervision. The position offers long-term career growth, with opportunities to advance into higher-level accounting and leadership roles.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile daily cash reports for all bank accounts.
- Manage all cash activity, including internal bank transfers between cash accounts and lines of credit.
- Prepare daily bank deposits for the parent company.
- Perform daily cash application and customer deposit reconciliation.
- Cross-train and provide support for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions.
- Handle full bookkeeping responsibilities for a Canadian subsidiary.
- Calculate, prepare, and submit monthly and quarterly sales tax filings, ensuring compliance with current Colorado sales tax laws.
- Maintain all required licenses and certificates, ensuring timely renewals.
- Prepare monthly consolidated financial statements for the parent company and its subsidiaries.
- Manage exchange rate considerations as needed.
- Prepare monthly Federal Excise Tax filings and quarterly reports.
- Produce monthly sales reporting for the Sales Department, including Sales by Salesperson reports.
- Oversee fixed assets and fleet management, including vehicle licensing and insurance requirements.
- Conduct monthly balance sheet account analyses.
- Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Create invoices for completed trailers.
- Assist with annual budget preparation.
- Collaborate closely with associates across operational departments.
- Contribute to the development, improvement, and documentation of accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
- Perform additional accounting duties and supervise junior associates as assigned.

- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Must have extensive experience with both month end reconciliation and documenting processes.
- Familiarity with accounting software and systems.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and applicable tax laws.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
