Employee Relations Business Partner (Contract – Remote) Duration: 6 months (strong potential for extension or permanent hire)
Pay: $58–$65/hour ($120K–$135K equivalent) Schedule: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM MT Location: Remote (AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, FL, GA, ID, IL, KS, ME, MD, MA, MI, MN, MO, NV, NH, NJ, NY, NC, OH, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WI)
Preference for Mountain Time; Pacific and Central considered.
About the Role We are seeking a senior-level Employee Relations Business Partner to serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees across the organization. This role is heavily focused on performance management and manager coaching, with light investigation volume. You will partner closely with leaders to navigate complex employee matters with sound judgment, consistency, and compliance rigor.
Key Responsibilities
Lead performance management processes including PIPs, corrective actions, role eliminations, and severance conversations
Coach managers on documentation, feedback delivery, and policy application
Manage ER cases end-to-end, ensuring thorough documentation and risk evaluation
Conduct investigations as needed
Partner cross-functionally on leave, compliance, and employee matters
Identify trends and provide proactive recommendations
Qualifications
3–5+ years of HR experience, including 3+ years in Employee Relations
Strong knowledge of employment law in multi-state environments
Experience with HR case management systems (e.g., HR Acuity) and Workday
Excellent communication, documentation, and coaching skills
Bachelor’s degree required; SHRM or PHR certification preferred
