Lakeshore Talent is partnering with a growing workforce solutions organization to identify an experienced Enterprise Business Development Manager to lead new business development across the U.S. This is a high-impact sales role focused on identifying, developing, and closing complex enterprise opportunities with Fortune 1000 organizations.
Location: Remote, U.S.
Compensation: $150,000–$170,000 base + commission
Travel: Approximately 10–40%
About the Opportunity
This is an ideal opportunity for a sophisticated, high-energy enterprise sales professional who understands that the biggest deals are not won overnight. The sales cycle can span 12–18 months, requiring someone who knows how to build relationships, develop multiple stakeholders, create a strategic solution, and consistently nurture an opportunity through to close.
The strongest candidates will bring 5+ years of experience selling directly into the enterprise market, ideally within EOR, AOR, MSP, RPO, VMS, payroll, contingent workforce, staffing, or another complex workforce-solutions environment. Experience selling to HR, Procurement, and senior-level decision-makers is particularly valuable.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and execute strategic business development plans focused on Fortune 1000 organizations.
- Identify, prospect, and develop new enterprise opportunities through multiple channels, including phone, email, LinkedIn, networking, referrals, events, and in-person relationship building.
- Build relationships with senior HR, Procurement, and other executive-level decision-makers.
- Manage the full sales cycle from initial prospecting through negotiation and close.
- Develop and maintain a healthy pipeline of complex, high-value enterprise opportunities.
- Partner with MSP, RPO, VMS, online platform, and other strategic providers to identify and create new opportunities.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to prospects by understanding their business, workforce challenges, and organizational goals.
- Develop customized solutions by collaborating with internal subject matter experts and sales leadership.
- Maintain accurate opportunity and activity information within HubSpot CRM.
- Partner with marketing to identify and follow up on qualified opportunities.
- Collaborate with sales leadership to execute go-to-market strategies and convert opportunities into revenue.
- Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
- Speak confidently and effectively with groups, industry professionals, and decision-makers at all levels.
- Negotiate and close mid- to large-enterprise EOR, AOR, MSP, VMS, staffing, and workforce solutions opportunities.
- Consistently work toward annual sales and revenue objectives while maintaining a disciplined, strategic approach to prospecting.
What We’re Looking For
- 6–10 years of business development or enterprise sales experience within EOR, AOR, MSP, VMS, RPO, staffing, payroll, contingent workforce, or a related workforce-solutions industry.
- Proven success selling complex solutions directly into enterprise organizations.
- Experience managing long, consultative sales cycles, ideally 12–18 months or longer.
- A demonstrated track record of personally building pipeline and converting enterprise prospects into clients.
- Strong understanding of HR and/or Procurement buyers and how enterprise organizations evaluate workforce solutions.
- Experience selling MSP and/or RPO solutions is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of payrolling, worker classification, independent contractor management, or related workforce compliance solutions is a plus.
- Exceptional prospecting skills with a clear, disciplined approach to generating new business.
- Highly outgoing and relationship-oriented with the ability to build genuine connections quickly.
- Executive presence and confidence communicating with senior-level stakeholders.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, communication, and consultative selling skills.
- Self-directed and comfortable managing priorities and performance in a fully remote environment.
- Resourceful, strategic, professional, and highly motivated.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
What Will Make You Successful
This role is about much more than being a strong prospector. The ideal candidate knows how to hunt, build, nurture, and close.
You should be comfortable walking into an industry event and building relationships from scratch, just as easily as you can develop a strategic prospecting campaign. You know how to get in front of the right decision-makers, understand the business behind the opportunity, build consensus across multiple stakeholders, and stay engaged throughout a lengthy sales cycle.
Because enterprise opportunities can take 12–18 months to close, patience and persistence are critical. Success in the first year will be measured heavily by the quality of the pipeline being built, with an expectation of developing approximately 10–12 legitimate enterprise opportunities, several of which are positioned to close within the following 18 months.
Compensation & Benefits
- $150,000–$170,000 base salary, depending on experience
- Additional commission with significant earning potential tied to enterprise revenue
- Potential bonus opportunity
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k) retirement plan
- Paid vacation, sick days, and holidays
- Voluntary life insurance
- Additional ancillary benefits
Why Join?
This is an opportunity to join an established organization with deep expertise in the workforce solutions space and a leadership team that is highly invested in the success of its sales organization. New hires receive extensive training, coaching, and support, including access to proven sales strategies, presentations, market knowledge, and leadership involvement in major opportunities.
The role is fully remote and open to candidates anywhere in the U.S., with approximately 2–3 major industry events each year and additional travel as needed. While an East Coast location may be advantageous for some events, it is not required.
