Position Title: Service Technician
Location: Onsite – Henderson, CO
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Pay Range:  $25 – $30 per hour (pay is skill-based and may be re-evaluated at 120 days)
Employment Type: Contract to Hire  (120 days / 4 months contract) with potential for permanent conversion
Reports To: Foreman

 


Position Summary

The Service Technician is responsible for inspecting, servicing, repairing, and rebuilding trailers to ensure safety, reliability, and performance. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, hands-on problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while servicing large trailers.

 


Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect trailers and components to identify wear, damage, or mechanical issues

  • Service, repair, and replace trailer parts as needed

  • Repair and/or rebuild trailers according to work orders and specifications

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical systems and related issues

  • Perform work in compliance with safety standards and quality guidelines

  • Communicate effectively with team members to complete repairs efficiently

  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed

 


Team Environment

  • Join a team of approximately 28 trailer mechanics

  • Strong emphasis on teamwork and communication, especially when working on 53-foot trailers

  • Each technician is paired with a “working buddy” to promote collaboration and safety

Qualifications & Skills

  • Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in trailer or similar equipment repair

  • Ability to operate machines, hand tools, and other job specific equipment and tools.

  • Experience with MIG welding aluminum and steel 

  • Ability to read blueprints preferred 

  • Ability to perform shop math, record measurements like volume and distance

  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems

  • Comfortable working in a physically demanding, shop-based environment

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

  • Engineering-minded approach with a willingness to learn and grow

  • Experience with similar products or industries (e.g., agriculture, land-based work, or western heritage equipment) is a strong plus

  • Entry-level candidates with relevant schooling and mechanical aptitude are encouraged to apply
