Job Title: Pipeline Permitting Specialist
Location: Remote (Preferred: Colorado)
Travel: ~1x per month to Texas or Louisiana + quarterly team meetings
Pay Rate: $70–$100/hour (depending on experience)
Employment Type: Long term contract
We are seeking a Pipeline Permitting Specialist to support Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS) projects within a growing energy transition organization. This role will report directly to the EHSR lead and play a critical part in building and managing permitting and compliance infrastructure for a dynamic and expanding project portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Support permitting efforts for linear/pipeline projects, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements

Build and maintain a comprehensive tracker for regulatory requirements across projects

Develop and manage a compliance calendar to ensure timely submissions and adherence to regulations

Coordinate with regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and project teams

Assist with partner appraisals and support contract execution processes

Manage a high volume of incoming project data and documentation

Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, project managers, contractors, and geologists

Support environmental compliance efforts, including air, water, and waste permitting and reporting

Contribute to EHSR programs, procedures, and compliance initiatives
Qualifications

Strong experience in environmental and/or pipeline permitting (pipeline experience preferred)

Proven ability to manage contractors and work across multiple stakeholders

Experience partnering with engineers and project managers on infrastructure or energy projects

Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as DOT, PSM, RMP, GHG, and Quad O is a plus

Experience with Class II or Class VI wells strongly preferred

Experience in CO? or Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS) projects is highly desirable
