Assembler/Electrical Specialist – Livestock Trailers

Location: Henderson, CO (Onsite)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5:00 a.m.–1:30 p.m.
Pay: $22–$24 per hour, based on experience and skill level
Position Type: Contract-to-Hire (120-day contract with potential for permanent conversion)
 

Position Summary

Lakeshore Talent is partnered with Merritt Trailers in their search for a motivated Assembler/Electrical Specialist to support the production of custom livestock trailers. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role involving electrical work, manual assembly, and the construction of trailers from raw materials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble livestock trailer components, including end sheets and side sheets.
  • Build custom trailers from raw materials using prints and job specifications.
  • Complete electrical work, including connecting wiring harnesses.
  • Use drills, air guns, and other pneumatic or hand tools.
  • Read a tape measure accurately and follow detailed measurements.
  • Review prints to understand trailer configurations and assembly requirements.
  • Work safely from ladders and at varying heights.
  • Track completed work and remaining production hours for assigned trailers.
  • Assist with different stages of the production process as needed.
  • Communicate closely with team members when working on large trailers.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
  • Participate in required hands-on training for equipment such as cranes and saws.

Required Qualifications

  • Previous manual production, manufacturing, construction, or assembly experience.
  • Electrical assembly and maintenance experience
  • Ability to connect electrical harnesses; soldering is not required.
  • Experience using drills, air guns, and similar tools.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and interpret basic prints.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable climbing ladders and working at heights.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding, hands-on work.
  • Willingness to learn multiple parts of a custom production process.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work safely as part of a team.
  • Ability to provide required personal tools and steel-toed boots.

Preferred Background

  • Experience building, repairing, or using livestock, agricultural, utility, or similar trailers.
  • Familiarity with farming, ranching, construction, fabrication, or other hands-on environments.
  • Mechanical or engineering aptitude.
  • Interest in learning new skills and developing within a manufacturing career.
