Lakeshore Talent is seeking a Payroll Operations Coordinator to join a reputable organization in a hands-on and collaborative role. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced payroll department while mentoring and guiding less experienced team members.

Payroll Operations Coordinator
Pay: $22–$27/hour
Location: Onsite in Chicago, IL | Temp-to-Hire

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a resource and informal leader for junior payroll staff, promoting teamwork and accuracy

• Support day-to-day payroll processing and ensure accuracy across multiple states or large employee groups

• Assist with payroll compliance, tax filings, and wage law adherence

• Partner with internal departments to resolve payroll discrepancies and provide clear communication

• Utilize Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis) to audit and reconcile payroll data
   

Qualifications:

• 2–3 years of hands-on payroll experience, ideally in a multi-state or large organization

• Proficiency with payroll systems such as ADP, Workday, or similar platforms

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

• Knowledge of payroll compliance and regulatory requirements

• Collaborative mindset with the ability to mentor others
