Lakeshore Talent is in search of a Pharmacy Technician to join a respected healthcare organization in Sacramento, California. This 4-month contract position offers an excellent opportunity to support pharmacy operations and patient care in a collaborative, fast-paced clinical environment.


Position Details

  • Title: Pharmacy Technician

  • Location:  Sacramento, CA 

  • Length: 4-month contract

  • Pay Rate: $22.12 – $26.54 per hour (based on experience)

  • Schedule: Full-time, onsite


Overview

The Pharmacy Technician will support daily pharmacy and clinic operations by assisting with medication preparation, inventory management, data entry, and coordination with pharmacists and clinical staff. This role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a passion for supporting quality patient care.


Key Responsibilities

  • Access, input, and retrieve information from computer systems, including patient demographics and medication data entry.

  • Process and verify delivered pharmacy orders as they arrive.

  • Maintain medication inventory to ensure adequate stock levels for daily operations.

  • Answer and route phone calls professionally and promptly.

  • Remove outdated, damaged, or recalled medications and prepare them for return.

  • Keep pharmacy and clinic areas organized, clean, and properly stocked.

  • Prepare over-the-counter (OTC) medications for delivery, pending review by licensed clinical staff.

  • Ensure medications are accurately packaged, labeled, and ready for courier delivery.

  • Track medication deliveries and confirm receipt with participants to ensure timely distribution.

  • Review and update Medication Administration Records (MARs) for accuracy with physician orders and electronic medical records.

  • Organize MAR binders and perform quality checks between current and previous records.

  • Perform various clerical and administrative duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications

  • Current California State Pharmacy Technician License with the Board of Pharmacy.

  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in a pharmacy setting.

  • High School Diploma or GED required.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish preferred).

  • Pharmacy Technician Certification from either the Institute for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ICPT) or the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).


Additional Details

  • Background check and drug screening (4-panel) required prior to start.

  • Copy of current Pharmacy Technician Certification must be provided during onboarding.
