Controller
Full-time – Oak Brook, IL
Compensation: $165,000 – $185,000 annually
Position Overview
The Controller is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls. This role ensures the integrity of financial data, supports strategic decision-making, and leads the accounting team in maintaining compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of the accounting function, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and month-end close
- Prepare and review accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Establish and maintain strong internal controls and financial policies
- Manage the annual audit process and coordinate with external auditors
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Partner with leadership to provide financial insights and recommendations
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations
- Develop and mentor accounting staff, fostering a high-performance team environment
- Continuously improve accounting processes and systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA strongly preferred)
- Must have experience in healthcare
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience managing audits and working with external auditors
- Advanced proficiency in accounting systems and Excel
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Preferred Experience
- Experience in multi-site or service-based organizations
- CPA
- Background in healthcare or professional services environments
