Metal Fabrication Sheet & Plate Technician Day & Night Shift Opportunities Available

Location: Henderson, CO (Onsite)
Position Type: Contract-to-Hire (4-month contract with potential for permanent hire)
Start Date: ASAP

Day Shift

  • Pay: $23.00 – $27.00 per hour
  • Four 10-hour shifts (Monday–Thursday or Tuesday–Friday, schedule to be determined)
  • Hours: 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Overtime opportunities available on a 5th day and Saturdays as needed

Night/Swing Shift

  • Pay: $25.00 – $29.00 per hour
  • Four 10-hour shifts (Tuesday–Friday)
  • Hours: 3:30 PM – 2:00 AM
  • Overtime opportunities available on a 5th day and Saturdays as needed

Lakeshore Talent is hiring on behalf of Merritt Trailers for a Fabrication Sheet & Plate Generalist to join their expanding fabrication department in Henderson, Colorado. This is an excellent opportunity for mechanically inclined individuals who enjoy working with their hands, solving problems, and learning a variety of fabrication processes and equipment.

Merritt is looking for adaptable team members who are eager to learn, willing to cross-train, and interested in building a long-term career in manufacturing. While experience operating fabrication equipment is preferred, the company is willing to train candidates who possess strong mechanical aptitude, curiosity, and a positive attitude.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and assist with setup of fabrication equipment including press brakes, hydraulic shears, ironworkers, and milling machines
  • Read work instructions, measurements, and specifications to produce quality parts
  • Perform material handling, layout work, cutting, bending, punching, and forming operations
  • Conduct quality inspections and ensure finished products meet company standards
  • Troubleshoot equipment and production issues using critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Cross-train on multiple fabrication machines and support various production needs
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals and deadlines

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in manufacturing, fabrication, machining, metalworking, or related industries preferred
  • Experience operating fabrication equipment is a plus
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new equipment and processes
  • Ability to read measurements and use precision measuring tools
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable attendance and willingness to work overtime when needed

Preferred Experience

Ideal candidates will have experience with one or more of the following:

  • Press brake setup and operation
  • Hydraulic shear operation
  • Ironworker equipment
  • Manual milling or machining equipment
  • Sheet metal or plate fabrication
  • Blueprint reading and fabrication measurements
