Senior Division Order Analyst (Contract)

Location: Denver, CO (Downtown) – Office Preferred. Hybrid work arrangements may be available based on business needs.

Duration: 4–5 Month Contract

Pay Rate: $50.00 – $75.00 per hour

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Division Order Analyst to join a dynamic upstream oil and gas team on a contract basis. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with extensive Division Order experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys solving complex ownership and revenue issues.

The Senior Division Order Analyst will be responsible for managing Division Order activities, including ownership transfers, reclassifications, title analysis, ownership verification, and revenue-related inquiries. In addition to traditional Division Order responsibilities, this position will support data analysis and integration initiatives, making strong Excel and analytical skills essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, interpret, and analyze title documents including leases, deeds, contracts, probate documents, and division orders to determine ownership interests.

  • Process Division Order transactions including ownership transfers, reclassifications, and other ownership changes.

  • Verify and calculate royalty, working interest, and mineral ownership percentages to ensure accurate revenue distribution.

  • Maintain and update Division Order records and ownership databases with accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Research and reconcile ownership discrepancies to ensure timely and accurate revenue payments.

  • Respond to inquiries from mineral owners, working interest partners, and other stakeholders regarding ownership and revenue distribution.

  • Collaborate with Land, Revenue Accounting, Operations, and other internal departments to resolve ownership issues and improve revenue distribution processes.

  • Perform data analysis using Microsoft Excel to support reporting, reconciliation, and potential data integration initiatives.

  • Assist with escheat processing and other special projects as assigned.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • 7–12 years of Division Order experience within the upstream oil and gas industry.

  • Strong understanding of Division Order processes, including ownership transfers, reclassifications, title analysis, and ownership verification.

  • Solid knowledge of oil and gas accounting principles, revenue distribution, and industry practices.

  • Experience researching and resolving complex ownership and revenue discrepancies.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, lookups, pivot tables, and managing large datasets.

  • Experience with industry ERP systems; Enertia experience is strongly preferred.

  • Experience working with Salesforce or similar business applications.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and work independently in a deadline-driven environment.

  • Demonstrated attention to detail, persistence, and a continuous improvement mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Energy Management, or a related field.

  • Experience supporting data conversion, data integration, or system implementation projects.

  • Knowledge of land administration and revenue accounting processes.

Work Environment

  • Denver-based candidates are preferred.

  • Remote candidates will be considered for highly qualified applicants.
