Lakeshore Talent is partnering with an oil and gas company in Denver to staff a direct hire General Ledger Accountant position.  

Job Title:     General Ledger Accountant

Location:     Denver, Cherry Creek Neighborhood; parking provided

Job Type:     Perm

Start Date:   ASAP 

Salary:         $60,000 – $83,000 annual compensation

                     Eligible for annual incentive compensation

Summary

  • Perform a range of accounting tasks including transaction processing, financial statement preparation, accruals, cash management, and reporting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly financial statements and perform operational analysis.

  • Maintain account reconciliations for all managed entities.

  • Ensure consistency and accuracy of data across the accounting department.

  • Coordinate and manage the filing of all financial and accounting documentation.

  • Support the successful completion of annual external audits.

  • Reconcile assigned account balances and prepare journal entries in line with GAAP.

  • Participate in the monthly close process to ensure timely completion.

  • Document and optimize accounting processes to ensure strong internal controls and efficiency.

  • Produce, develop, and distribute ad hoc financial reports as requested.

  • Provide support to Revenue and AP/JIB functions as needed.

  • Perform various other accounting-related tasks as assigned.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform other duties as required.

Education, Skills, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA preferred.

  • Minimum of 1 year of oil and gas industry experience.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and oil and gas accounting software.

  • Knowledge and experience in:

    • Basic oil and gas operations

    • Division of interest and ownership structures

    • Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

    • Oil and gas accounting procedures

    • Account reconciliations

  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, handle a heavy workload, and collaborate across various levels of the organization.
