Payroll Specialist II (Contract)
Location: Denver, CO- Central Park
Pay: $35–$38/hour depending on experience
Schedule: Full-time, Hybrid, 2-3 days remote per week after initial training.
Lakeshore Talent is currently seeking a Payroll Specialist II for a contract opportunity with one of our clients in the construction and skilled trades industry. This position offers the chance to support a large, multi-state workforce and play a key role in maintaining payroll accuracy and compliance for a company that services high-impact projects across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

Process weekly, multi-state payroll for over 1,400 employees using in-house systems.

Ensure compliance with federal and state wage regulations, including Davis-Bacon and Prevailing Wage standards.

Submit and manage certified payroll reports and related documentation.

Support data accuracy in timekeeping systems and troubleshoot time entry issues.

Administer garnishments, tax levies, and other payroll deductions.

Maintain and reconcile payroll data in alignment with general ledger requirements.

Manage onboarding payroll entries, terminations, and changes in HRIS.

Assist with fringe schedule setup and ensure all required documentation for apprentices and subcontractors is maintained.

Upload weekly payroll reports into client platforms such as LCP Tracker, eMars, and Ecomply.

Support training of operations personnel regarding payroll timelines, manual check processes, and certified reporting requirements.

Participate in audits related to unemployment, workers’ compensation, 401K, and wage compliance.

Perform regular maintenance and updates in payroll systems, including promotions, transfers, craft/class updates, and other employment changes.
Qualifications:

3+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably in construction, manufacturing, or unionized environments.

Familiarity with Davis-Bacon Act and Prevailing Wage payroll regulations.

Proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP systems (Viewpoint, Great Plains, or similar).

Working knowledge of payroll taxes, deductions, and compliance documentation.

Experience supporting HRIS systems and maintaining employee records.

Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across HR, operations, and finance teams.
