Lakeshore Talent is in search of a compassionate and dedicated Clinical Medical Assistant to join a mission-driven healthcare team in Tampa, FL. Position Type: Contract (3 months)
Pay: $23/hr
Start Date: ASAP (2–3 weeks from offer)
Location: Tampa, FL
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- High school diploma or GED
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to perform phlebotomy functions and EKGs
- 1+ year of experience working with frail and elderly populations
- Current BLS/First Aid certifications
- Ability to pass background check and drug screen
Preferred: Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Job Summary
The Clinical Medical Assistant provides direct clinical support and performs administrative functions to ensure smooth clinic operations. This role involves assisting providers and nursing staff, supporting patient flow, and delivering compassionate care to participants.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily clinic flow by coordinating with medical staff to prioritize scheduling
- Collect and document vital signs, specimens, and diagnostic tests (phlebotomy, EKG, finger sticks, pulse oximetry)
- Prepare participants for exams, procedures, and treatments
- Assist providers and nurses with procedures and medication administration (inhalers, injections, eye drops, etc., per qualifications)
- Educate participants, provide lab results, and schedule follow-up appointments
- Maintain exam rooms, manage supply inventory, and ensure cleanliness
- Complete charting, clerical tasks, and weekly audits as assigned
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, policy, and procedure guidelines
