Lakeshore Talent has partnered with a healthcare company in Chicago to staff a 12+ week Philanthropy Associate role.

Location: Downtown Chicago
Duration:  12 weeks could go longer
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm
Requirements: COVID & Flu vaccines required                                                                                   

Pay:  $23 – $26 per hour depending on experience


Responsibilities

  • Lead strategy, fundraising, marketing, communication, and execution for a portfolio of fundraising and donor relations events aligned with philanthropic priorities.
  • Cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of current and prospective corporate and individual donors.
  • Recruit, secure, and manage event hosts and/or fundraising committee members, including:
  • Communicating roles and expectations
  • Creating meeting agendas
  • Securing meeting rooms
  • Taking minutes and sending post-meeting summaries
  • Track and report on event metrics, post-event analyses, and key performance indicators.
  • Maintain and manage event budgets while ensuring each event remains fresh, engaging, and aligned with strategic goals.
  • Oversee event logistics in partnership with the hospital’s events team, including timelines, mailing lists, vendor selection, décor, collateral, and volunteer recruitment.
  • Administer and coordinate philanthropy projects to support fundraising programs, including:
  • Work plan development and implementation
  • Requirements analysis
  • Budget oversight
  • Resource allocation
  • Solution development
  • Performance reporting
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with donors, prospects, volunteers, vendors, and team members.
  • Address and escalate project or donor-related issues as needed, implementing mitigation strategies to achieve results.
  • Prepare and execute effective communication mechanisms for project status, ideas, and developments with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Create and manage project work plans, revising as needed to meet evolving requirements.
  • Partner with senior leadership to ensure accuracy in philanthropy project planning, procurement, and budgeting.
  • Research, draft, and deliver internal and external communications such as presentations, speaking points, correspondence, and written materials.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to continuously strengthen leadership and fundraising capabilities.
  • Represent and support the hospital at donor cultivation, stewardship, and fundraising events, engaging with donors and constituents at all levels.
  • Manage complex, sensitive, and confidential information with professionalism and integrity.
  • Use meaningful metrics to assess outcomes and ensure achievement of fundraising goals.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or 4 years equivalent work experience.
    • 3+ years of experience in fundraising, community outreach, healthcare, or development with a proven track record (nonprofit experience preferred).
    • Demonstrated ability to design compelling, revenue-driven experiences.
    • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
    • Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills with a detail- and deadline-driven approach.
    • Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships across all organizational levels.
    • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • High degree of professionalism, integrity, and discretion when handling sensitive information.
    • Strong intellectual curiosity, initiative, and listening skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities, and think creatively as a collaborative team member.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in healthcare fundraising.
    • Public speaking and presentation skills.
    • Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge database.
